If you are reading this, then chances are you read my analysis for the Championship games last week. Well, I was right on spot about both games and here we are for the SuperBowl. KC managed a tight game and never buckled under. They didn’t drop passes like they had during the regular season and they didn’t get penalties that gave BALT extra opportunities. BALT made a lot of mistakes and bad penalties on DEF that let KC do their thing and keep the ball away from the BALT OFF. BALT WR Zay Flowers let the moment get ahead of him and he acted immaturely and it cost his team the game. You didn’t see that on the KC side. Even though KC scored 0points in the 2nd half, their DEF came up BIG vs the BALT OFF. KC won 17-10. LW, DET should have won the game, period. Instead of going up 27-10 with the fg, DET HC Dan Campbell decided to go for it. DET missed and SF went back the other way for a td and a 24-17 game. That’s a BIG swing. Then, a fumble by DET and another easy score for SF and now it’s 24-24. The game got out of hand after that for DET and SF won the game 34-31. I said, SF would win by a fg and they did. Hats off to SF for coming back from 24-7 but, Dan Campbell’s aggressiveness got the best of him this time around. SF QB Brock Purdy really stepped up in the 2nd half as the DET DEF didn’t stop Purdy from taking off for crucial 1st downs in the 2nd half which prolonged SF drives that turned into scores. These two teams played each other in SB 54 with KC winning that game 31-20. SF was winning that game but Mahomes & CO came back and scored 2tds in the 4th qtr to win the game. The QB for SF was Jimmy Garoppolo. Mahomes is like Tom Brady in that he wants to win every game and he doesn’t make mistakes. He is very calculated in his passes and knows when to take off with his feet. SF is very talented on OFF as I have said before, they have many stars that can carry a game. But, the KC DEF is very good and they give you looks that can easily confuse a QB. KC #4 TOT DEF w/#4 PASS DEF. The KC DEF shut down the high powered BALT OFF. This is the best PASS DEF that SF will see all season and KC limited the BALT rushers to 23yds last week. The KC DEF also limited BALT QB Lamar Jackson from doing any real damage with his feet. SF is a very good team but they have shown that they can be beat. They played catchup in the last two games and if they get down vs KC there may not be any coming back. SF is a good team but KC is better and I expect KC HC Andy Reid, DC Steve Spagnuolo to have a game plan that captures SF off guard. On the other side, I expect KC QB Pat Mahomes to take apart the SF DEF and win this game. Take KC and the points because Mahomes takes it personal when he is a DOG.
